A promising treatment
It’s nothing new to say that hormones can affect cancer. Many different forms of cancer are treated by fiddling with the body’s hormonal levels. But, in recent days, the scientific community has been looking into the effects of a specific hormone on cancer: melatonin. The use of melatonin for cancer treatment is a relatively new development in the search to cure cancer, and there seems to be some promise here. While the mechanisms behind the results aren’t completely understood as yet, it’s still encouraging to see that there are some positive results here that may lead to further breakthroughs in this area.
The first clinical trial of melatonin for cancer showed that cancer patients treated with the hormone had a lower incidence of death. Once again, the reasons behind this are not yet completely understood. This trial was fairly recent, and another study is currently underway and scheduled to be completed in 2012. This next study should show a little more conclusively just how effective melatonin is against cancer and perhaps offer a little more insight into just how melatonin could possibly slow the growth of cancer cells and help to prevent or at least delay death in cancer patients.
While the jury may still be out on the effectiveness of melatonin for cancer, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to wait for the verdict to come back before taking action. Melatonin is available over-the-counter in low doses, and you can start taking it right away. You’re betting on the possibility that the verdict will come back positive, but there’s really no harm in taking melatonin tablets. As long as you do it right, it won’t adversely affect your body in any way. Just be sure to follow the dosage instructions so that you don’t experience any adverse side effects.
Where to buy Melatonin
There are many websites where you can buy melatonin supplements in the USA, but in Europe this is a different matter. Most European counties have banned the sale of Melatonin.
Buy melatonin for cancer may well be the future of cancer treatments. If anything, these studies showing the promise of using melatonin capsules to treat cancer may at least provide a breakthrough in the scientific community’s understanding of how different hormones can affect cancer, and can help them to develop more pointed hormonal treatments for cancer. But we all hope for the best-case scenario: that melatonin is the breakthrough that the oncological community has been waiting for. Even if it doesn’t end up being the cure for cancer, here’s to hoping that it will at least prove to be an effective treatment.
